Introduction
Welcome to MenuLingo. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the MenuLingo mobile application (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the App after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
Service Description
MenuLingo is a mobile application that helps you understand restaurant menus by:
- Translating menu items into your preferred language
- Converting prices to your preferred currency
- Providing information about dishes, including ingredients and allergens
- Offering dietary compatibility information
- Providing pronunciation guides for dish names
The App processes photos of restaurant menus that you provide and extracts information using AI technology. Translations and information are provided on a best-effort basis and may contain errors.
Subscription Services
Subscription Plans
MenuLingo offers subscription plans that provide access to premium features. Subscription plans are available for purchase through the App Store and are managed by Apple.
Automatic Renewal
Your subscription will automatically renew unless you cancel it before the end of the current subscription period.
When you purchase a subscription:
- Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each subscription period
- Your App Store account will be charged for renewal before the end of the current period
- The cost of renewal will be the same as the initial subscription price, unless we notify you of a price change
- You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your App Store account settings
Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current subscription period, and you will continue to have access to premium features until the end of that period.
To cancel your subscription:
- Open your device's Settings app
- Tap your Apple ID, then tap Subscriptions
- Select MenuLingo and tap Cancel Subscription
Refunds
All subscription payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple through their standard refund process. We do not process refunds directly.
For refund requests, please contact Apple Support or visit support.apple.com.
Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. If we change the price of your subscription, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance. If you do not agree to the price change, you can cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.
User-Generated Content
Content You Provide
When you use MenuLingo, you may upload photos of restaurant menus. By uploading content, you represent and warrant that:
- You have the right to upload the content
- The content does not violate any laws or regulations
- The content does not infringe on the rights of any third party
- The content is not offensive, harmful, or inappropriate
Prohibited Content
You agree not to upload, post, or share any content that:
- Is illegal, harmful, or violates any laws or regulations
- Infringes on intellectual property rights, including copyrights and trademarks
- Contains offensive, abusive, or discriminatory material
- Contains personal information of others without their consent
- Is spam, misleading, or fraudulent
- Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code
Content Moderation
We reserve the right to review, modify, or remove any content you upload at our sole discretion. We may remove content that violates these Terms or that we determine is inappropriate, harmful, or violates the rights of others.
While we may monitor content, we are not obligated to do so. You are solely responsible for the content you upload and the consequences of uploading it.
Reporting Inappropriate Content
If you encounter content that violates these Terms or that you believe is inappropriate, please contact us through the contact form on our website or within the App. We will review reported content and take appropriate action.
Content License
By uploading content to the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the App's services. We do not claim ownership of your content, and you retain all rights to your content.
User Responsibilities
You agree to use the App in accordance with these Terms and applicable laws. You agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
- Use automated systems to access the App without our permission
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Collect or harvest information about other users
- Use the App in a way that could damage, disable, or impair our servers or networks
Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, and functionality, is owned by MenuLingo and protected by intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by MenuLingo.
The MenuLingo name, logo, and trademarks are the property of MenuLingo. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written permission.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Service Availability
We strive to provide reliable service, but we cannot guarantee that the App will be available at all times or that it will be free from errors, interruptions, or delays. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the App at any time without notice.
Accuracy of Information
The translations, menu information, and other content provided by the App are provided on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information provided by the App. You should always verify important information, especially regarding allergens and ingredients, with restaurant staff.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MenuLingo and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the App.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or your subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Medical and Nutritional Information
The nutrition and allergen information provided by the App is for informational purposes only and should not be considered medical or nutritional advice. If you have food allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical concerns, always consult with a healthcare professional and verify information with restaurant staff before consuming any food.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, for any reason, including if you violate these Terms.
If your subscription is terminated, you will no longer have access to premium features, but you may continue to use the free features of the App. You will not be entitled to a refund for any unused portion of your subscription.
Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of the App after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the App.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which MenuLingo operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
