Menu Photos
When you take or upload a photo of a restaurant menu, the photo is temporarily sent to our servers to extract menu information and provide translations. Once processing is complete, your photo is automatically deleted from our servers. We do not store your photos on our servers.
Photos are only stored on your device if you choose to save them within the App. You can delete saved photos at any time through the App settings.
Contact Information
If you contact us through the App or our website, we collect your email address and the content of your message so we can respond to your inquiry. We only use this information to communicate with you and do not use it for marketing purposes.
We retain your email and message content only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and resolve any issues. After that, we delete this information.
Data Stored on Your Device
The following information is stored locally on your device:
- Your app preferences
- Saved menus and menu history
- App settings and configuration
You can delete all of this data at any time through the App settings. When you delete data, it is permanently removed from your device.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Process Menus: Temporarily process your menu photos to extract information and provide translations. Photos are deleted immediately after processing.
- To Respond to Inquiries: Use your email address to respond to your questions and provide customer support.
We do not use your information for advertising purposes. We do not sell, trade, or rent your information to third parties.
Third-Party Services
MenuLingo uses third-party services to provide certain features. These services may process your information to provide the requested functionality:
- AI and Translation Services: We use AI services to process menu images and provide translations. These services temporarily process your photos and do not store them after processing.
- Currency Conversion Services: We use currency conversion services to convert menu prices to your preferred currency. These services only receive currency conversion requests and do not store your personal information.
- Payment Processing: If you make in-app purchases, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not process or have access to your payment information.
